President
As president, Sony Pictures Animation, features and series, Kristine Belson is responsible for spearheading the studio’s strategy and growth as well as overseeing the development and production of all theatrical, serial and short form content on the Sony Pictures Animation slate.
The studio is currently in production on "Spider-Man™: Beyond the Spider-Verse," the highly-anticipated conclusion to the Spider-Verse trilogy, which began with 2018's Academy Award®-winning "Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse." In 2023, the studio released the sequel, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” which went on to earn an Oscar® nomination for Best Animated Feature.
Sony Pictures Animation is also behind the visually-groundbreaking and critically-acclaimed "The Mitchells vs. The Machines," the hit film series "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," and the beloved monster franchise "Hotel Transylvania," which will continue its story with the studio's upcoming series, "Motel Transylvania."
In 2023, the studio released its first adult animated series, “Agent Elvis,” featuring the voice of Matthew McConaughey for Netflix, and launched its second animated series: “Young Love,” for Max, based on Matthew A. Cherry’s short film “Hair Love,” which won the Academy Award® for Best Animated Short in 2020.
The studio's upcoming feature releases include "KPop Demon Hunters," a musical action adventure set against the backdrop of the most popular music movement of this generation, “Fixed,” an adult animated comedy from visionary director Genndy Tartakovsky, and "GOAT," an original animated sports comedy from producer Stephen Curry's Unanimous Media.
Belson joined Sony Pictures Animation in 2015 after spending nearly a decade at DreamWorks Animation, where she produced the Academy Award-nominated feature "The Croods." Belson also served as Executive Producer of the Academy Award-nominated film, "How to Train Your Dragon."
Belson joined DreamWorks Animation with over 15 years’ experience developing and producing live-action and animated films for the Jim Henson Company, Columbia Pictures, Turner Pictures, and 20th Century Fox.
