Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Unveils Multi-Million Dollar Marketing Campaign for the January 5 Blu-Ray™ and DVD Release of CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS

National Promotional Partners Include Ronzoni® Family of Pasta Brands, Spot Shot® Instant Carpet Stain & Odor Eliminator, Buca di Beppo® Restaurants, Carl's Jr.® and Hardees® Restaurants, and Chuck E. Cheese's®

CULVER CITY, CALIF. (December 21, 2009) – Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will create a nation-wide wave of hunger for the release of Sony Pictures Animation's Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, when it arrives on Blu-ray + DVD + PSP Digital Combo Pack, 2-Disc super-size DVD, 1-Disc DVD, and PSP on January 5, 2010. Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs will be supported by a multi-million dollar TV, out-of-home, radio and online advertising campaign, along with a number of wide-ranging promotions with national partners including Ronzoni® Family of Pasta Brands, Spot Shot® Instant Carpet Stain & Odor Eliminator, Buca di Beppo® Restaurant, Carl's Jr.® and Hardees® Restaurants, Chuck E. Cheese's®.

"Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs appeals to a very broad audience which allows us to leverage a number of exciting promotional campaigns with our national brand-name partners," said Marc Rashba, SPE's Vice President of Marketing. "Each promotional partner will offer a different way to engage consumers to enhance their shopping experience, whether it's a collectible toy for kids or added awareness for parents at restaurants and on packaged goods."

Following is an outline of national promotional partnerships for Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs: • Ronzoni Family of Pasta Brands is offering a four dollar rebate by mail for the purchase of a Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs DVD or Blu-ray and two packages of any of their pasta brands. Almost nine million packages will feature characters and logos supporting the DVD release and rebate promotion. Participating brands include Ronzoni®, San Giorgio®, Prince®, Creamette®, Skinner® and American Beauty®. • Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain & Odor Eliminator will run a promotion with a free Spot Shot with the purchase of the DVD or Blu-ray™ from January 5, 2010 through March 31, 2010. The freebie will be supported with FSI (33mm circ; 1/03/10), 2 full-page print ads in People Magazine (3.45mm circ ea; running 12/28/09 & 1/18/10), a full-page ad in Entertainment Weekly (1.72mm circ; 1/08/10), 650,000 Bottle Neckers and Package IRCs (Instant Redeemable Coupons) (all retailers), in-store POP, and online placements. • Buca di Beppo will offer a Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs-themed special Meatball Pizzain its 88 locations from January 3 – March 31. The promotion will be supported with an FSI Coupon (31mm circ), almost a million "Cloudy" placemats with a DVD coupon, in-store signage and table tents, and online placements. The first 25 customers at each location who order a "Cloudy" Meatball Pizza will receive free DVD via return mail. There will also be a local Southern Californian restaurant manager contest to win a trip to Sony Studios. • Carl's Jr. and Hardees restaurants will run a national promotion January 11 through March 9, 2010, featuring one of four collectible themed toys given away in every Cool Kids Combos® meal, while supplies last. Approximately five thousand store locations will participate with the support of in-store signage and online at and • Chuck E. Cheese's is offering a promotion of a "$19.99 Meal Deal" (Save up to $15) and a "Buy 60 Tokens/Get 40 Free!" ($10 savings) at the more than 500 restaurants nationwide. This national promotion will run from February 1 – March 31, 2010 and will be supported by in-store table tents and TV screens.

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS will be available on Blu-ray + DVD + PSP Digital Combo Pack for $39.95 SRP, on 2-Disc super-size DVD for $34.95 SRP, on 1-Disc DVD for $28.96 SRP, and on UMD for PSP for $24.94 SRP.
