SURF'S UP Makes a Splash at Annecy
CULVER CITY, CA – July 14, 2007 – Filmmakers from Sony Pictures Animation will be speaking today at the 2007 Annecy Animation Festival to share details of the pioneering work that went into making SURF'S UP.
Producer Chris Jenkins and director Chris Buck will participate in a discussion moderated by conference head René Broca of CITIA, France. They will address the movie's innovative documentary style, realistic waves, imaginative camera techniques and other aspects of the story about surfing penguins.
The filmmakers will be joined by Noël Kechichian, associate producer, Ubisoft Entertainment, who will add insights into how the film's story, character and settings were interpreted for the SURF'S UP videogame.
The SURF'S UP session will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Petite Salle. It is open to all badge holders by reservation and to the general public with a ticket to be bought 30 minutes before the conference, depending on available seating.
Recruiting consultant Jana Day also is available to talk with Annecy Animation Festival attendees about careers at Sony Pictures Animation and Sony Pictures Imageworks. She will be at the Creative Café in the Imperial Palace from 12:00-1:30pm.
