Lauren Faust

Director

Sony Pictures Animation

Lauren Faust is currently developing and set to direct Sony Pictures Animation’s upcoming feature comedy Medusa, an original story about the infamous snake-haired lady from Greek mythology

An Emmy® and Annie award winner, Lauren has lent her talents to many beloved animated properties throughout the years as artist, writer, director and producer. She has served as the Head Writer and Supervising Producer for Cartoon Network’s hit series, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, was a contributor to the wildly popular cartoon series, The Powerpuff Girls and Co Producer and Story Editor on Disney Channel’s Wander Over Yonder. She has also animated on several features films including the critically acclaimed movie, The Iron Giant.

Lauren is best known, however, as Creative Steward, Developer and Executive Producer of Hasbro/The Hub’s My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Lauren’s passion for making entertainment for girls, and insistence that "for girls" does not have to equal "lame" or "boring,"" pushed the show beyond the usual, poor-quality fair for girls and spawned a completely unexpected army of adult fans, known as "Bronies,"" who have taken the internet by storm.

Lauren lives in Los Angeles with her husband and fellow animator Craig McCracken, 2 mutts and a cat.
