Director of Recruiting
Sony Pictures Animation
Jana Day has been the director of recruiting for Sony Pictures Animation since 2003. In this role, she is responsible for the global recruiting efforts and university outreach for all story artists, character artists, and visual development artists working with Sony Pictures Animation.
Prior to Sony, Jana was director of recruiting for Big Idea Productions, where she was tasked with recruiting a full crew for the company’s first animated feature.
She previously was tapped to help build DreamWorks Animation as the head of recruiting. In that role, Jana was instrumental in establishing the studio and staffing several movies during her tenure.
Jana’s animation career began at Warner Bros. Television Animation, where she was manager of human resources.
Jana has supported the film productions of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Emoji Movie, The Star, Hotel Transylvania 1, 2, & 3, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 1 & 2, Smurfs 1& 2, Smurfs: The Lost Village, Surf’s Up, Open Season, Jonah, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, The Road to El Dorado, and The Prince of Egypt.
A native of Chicago, Jana is a graduate of Coe College, and holds degrees in psychology and business administration.
