As the Senior Vice President of Publicity & Corporate Communications for Sony Pictures Animation, Olivier Mouroux is responsible for the branding, corporate strategy and social media for the studio as well as the production publicity efforts for Sony Pictures Animation properties through each phase of their lifecycle including greenlight, theatrical release, home entertainment and awards.
Since joining the company in September 2011, Olivier has been spearheading the animation publicity campaigns for projects such as Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2 which each broke the record as highest September opener in U.S. movie history, Aardman's Academy Award nominated film The Pirates! Band of Misfits, and the upcoming computer animated feature Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse from the minds of Christopher Miller and Phil Lord.
In his role, Olivier has also successfully overseen the launch and development of Sony Pictures Animation’s social media presence, for instance growing the studio’s Facebook following from 2,500 to 3.7 million without any media spend.
Prior to joining Sony Pictures Animation, Olivier was Vice President of Global Publicity at Walt Disney Motion Pictures where he spearheaded the worldwide publicity campaigns for all of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ projects between 2008 and 2011, The Muppets as well as Disney’s top 4 domestic and worldwide grossers in 2010: Alice in Wonderland, Academy Award ® winner Toy Story 3, Tron: Legacy and Tangled.
Olivier was previously in charge of animation publicity at DreamWorks Animation from 2003 to 2008, working on features such as Shrek 2, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. He started his career founding and single-handedly running one of the very first animation blogs, Animated Movies.
Olivier grew up in Poitiers, France and received a Master in Science of Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.
