Bob Osher is president of the Digital Production division of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Sony Pictures Digital Productions comprises Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Colorworks, Sony Pictures Post Production Services, Worldwide Product Fulfillment, Studio Operations and Asset Management.

As President of Sony Pictures Digital Productions, Osher brings a unique blend of creative, production, finance and animation experience to his management capabilities.

Under Osher’s leadership, Sony Pictures Animation has produced numerous theatrical hit films including the monster comedy Hotel Transylvania, the 2011 hybrid live action/animated blockbuster, The Smurfs and The Smurfs 2, the 2009 mouth-watering comedy Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and its 2013 sequel Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2. It is currently in production on Hotel Transylvania 2 and the Untitled Smurfs Movie (working title).

Sony Pictures Imageworks is an Academy Award® winning visual effects and animation company known for live-action visual effects and dynamic creature and character animation, all-CG animation, and stereoscopic 3D imagery. The company, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., recently completed work on Disney/Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: the Winter Soldier, the Warner Bros. feature Edge of Tomorrow and 22 Jump Street and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Columbia Pictures. Sony Pictures Imageworks is currently in production on Columbia Pictures’ The Interview and Pixels, and the Angry Birds movie for Rovio. The company is also working on the animated features Hotel Transylvania 2 and the Untitled Smurfs Movie (working title) for Sony Pictures Animation.

Colorworks is a digital intermediate facility which provides color grading, mastering, restoration, real-time 4K processing in a full digital workflow and related services for film and television worldwide.

Sony Pictures Post Production Services was built for filmmakers by Post Production professionals and is one of the largest, full service post production facilities in Hollywood.

Worldwide Product Fulfillment (WPF) is responsible for overseeing the fulfillment of Sony Pictures theatrical and television content to distributors, broadcasters and retailers around the world.

Studio Operations manages Sony Pictures Studios’ 18 sound stages, more than 200,000 square feet of production and term deal offices along with production support departments including Lighting and Grip, Property and Set Dressing, Wardrobe and Transportation.

Asset Management creates, manages, and protects SPE’s intellectual property assets (film, video, audio and digital resources) through asset protection and preservation services, global inventory management and distribution, restoration and archiving.

From 2004 to 2009, Osher was Chief Operating Officer of the Columbia Pictures Motion Picture Group. In that capacity, Osher was instrumental in setting strategy for the motion picture group and involved in its productions, including the Spider-Man franchise and the James Bond films. In addition, he spearheaded several transactions in connection with the co-financing of Columbia Pictures’ film slate.

Osher joined Columbia after serving as Co-President of Production for Miramax Films. During his tenure at Miramax, Osher was co-head of the creative production department and ran the legal, business affairs and physical production divisions. In 2002, he was also placed in charge of Miramax Television and became co-head of the company's home entertainment and domestic television sales divisions. While at Miramax, Osher oversaw the production of the Academy Award® Best Picture winners Shakespeare in Love and Chicago and served as Executive Producer of several films, including Anthony Minghella's acclaimed civil war drama Cold Mountain, starring Nicole Kidman and Jude Law. He also helped create the hit reality series "Project Runway" and earned two Emmy Award nominations from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences as the executive producer of "Project Greenlight."

He previously was a Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of the Turner Pictures Group, where he co-headed Turner Feature Animation and was responsible for overseeing and managing all business activities and financial operations for Turner Pictures, TNT Original Films (including creative head for original programming) and the Turner Entertainment Company. From 1989 to 1995, Osher was at Walt Disney Studios, where he rose to Senior Vice President in charge of Business and Legal Affairs for Walt Disney, Touchstone Pictures and Disney Feature Animation. He practiced transactional entertainment law prior to joining Disney.

Osher sits on the Board of Councilors for the University Of Southern California Dornsife College Of Letters, Arts & Sciences. He is Board Chair of the USC Alumni Council of the School of Cinematic Arts. He was a member of the USC Alumni Association Board of Governors from 2009 to 2013 and won its prestigious Alumni Merit Award in 2014. Since 2007, Osher has been an adjunct professor for the USC School of Cinematic Arts, teaching at the graduate level. Osher is also a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agency Council on the Future of Media.

Osher graduated with Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude honors from USC School of Cinematic Arts; and with honors from Georgetown University Law School. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
