Sony Pictures Animation
Lindsey Olivares currently serves as production designer and lead character designer on Sony Pictures Animation's original animated comedy "The Mitchells Vs. The Machines," slated for theatrical release on September 18, 2020.
Before joining Sony Pictures Animation in Culver City, Olivares was living in a small town on the Sacramento River with her grandmother and chickens. Olivares self-published a book about her chickens titled "Pasión del Gallo Indomable." Olivares worked as a freelance visual development artist and illustrator with a focus on character design and caricature. Her freelance clients have included Disney Television Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Animation, Locksmith Animation, Nickelodeon, Google, Furry Puppet Studio, Titmouse, Hornet Inc, Psyop, Airbnb, Pinterest, and Facebook. Olivares also served as a character art director within Social VR at Facebook.
Olivares has a passion for caricature illustration. She is an award-winning caricature artist, recently awarded the "Silver Nosey" at the 2017 International Society of Caricature Artist competition.
Olivares has also worked as an artist at PDI DreamWorks Animation on films such as "Trolls", "Penguins of Madagascar", and "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted."
Olivares studied computer animation at Ringling College of Art and Design. As a student her thesis film received awards including "Best of Show" at Siggraph Asia. As a student, she interned at Walt Disney Animation Studios as a character design and visual development intern.
